Biography

Born in Minas Gerais, Brazil, Joffre has lived and traveled extensively around the world. He studied Film Studies at Concordia University in Montreal, graduating with honours. Now based in Toronto, he works as a writer, director, producer, and properties manager in the film and television industry.
Joffre has written, directed, and produced ten short films and one feature-length film in Portuguese and English; they have screened in over one-hundred film festivals around the world. His short film “Being Brave,” funded by the Canada Council for the Arts, screened at more than thirty international film festivals and received twenty-two awards.
His work focuses on heartfelt, character-driven stories inspired by his life experiences. He is developing “Aging Queens,” a short film about an unlikely friendship between a struggling drag queen and an elderly woman with early dementia; the script placed in the Top 10 of the 2023 PAGE International Screenwriting Competition. He is also developing “Jay Wants Out,” a feature film set in Ontario, Canada.
